Family Library Categories:
Bilibili video demo → Family Library Category Breakdown (opens new window)
- Soft Furnishing Category

Categorized by soft furnishing types; subcategories follow the main category selection.
- Hard Finishing Category

Primarily categorized by construction location and family type, better aligned with interior finishing thinking.
- Detail & Drafting Category

Provides various detail families for drawing detail nodes, common construction nodes, and common drafting symbols.
- Custom Component Category

Organizes custom components following curtain wall logic.
# Get Render Path

Extract the render path and add it to your project's render paths to prevent texture path loss for families that come with built-in textures.

Solution for copy-path failure: Reinstall the US English input method.
# Custom Family Cloud Upload

Select the appropriate category based on the family library classification, then drag and drop the files you want to upload.
Thumbnails and family files must both be present during upload. Textures are optional; multiple textures are supported.

# Search
Bilibili video demo → Family Filtering Methods (opens new window)
- Search for families by name or ID.
- Browse by family library directory structure.
- Version filtering principle: filters families usable by the current version. For example, selecting v2023 shows families compatible with Revit 2023, which also includes lower-version families.
- "Private" at the bottom refers to families uploaded by the user. "Favorites" shows families the user has bookmarked.
# Placement & Usage
Downloaded families are cached on your computer, so you don't need to re-download them. You can drag and drop from the family library multiple times within a project, using it as a visual family browser that replaces the traditional Project Browser.
To replace certain family types in your project: select the family to replace, find a similar family in the library, then left-click to replace. Ensure the replacement family has been downloaded first.

Placement methods when dragging and dropping:
- Regular families are placed by clicking directly in the current view.
- Face-based families require a work plane to be placed.
- Line-based families require two clicks to place.
- Groups belonging to the project will open a new document by default when placed; simply copy from the new document into your project.
- Families that cannot exist independently in the model will be directly referenced into the project when dragged and dropped; select them when needed. Example: loading profile families.

View

Right-click on the thumbnail to view a larger image.
Delete

Deletion removes the family from both the cloud and local downloads. You can only delete families you uploaded yourself.
Move

Reclassify your families by selecting the target category and moving them directly.
Update

Similar to custom upload but unrestricted — only fill in the elements that need updating.
You can upgrade and update your own families. After updating, click re-download to overwrite the cached version.
Rating

Users can rate families they've used. The plugin sorts families by rating and download count by default, helping quality families get more visibility.
Favorites

Bookmark families you like to see them on your Favorites page, still organized by the library's own categories.

# HD Texture Library

Operations follow the same approach as the family library.

Drag and drop textures directly onto component surfaces to replace material textures.
Pay attention to the replacement type selection. The material must be a generic material, not Revit-specific materials like wood, stone, etc.
Replacement unresponsive: If some texture replacements cause subsequent replacements to stop working, rename the last replaced texture, then manually replace the default material in the material editor with any material, then try replacing again. This mechanism is triggered infrequently; if encountered, report the problematic texture name in the group.

# Clear Cache

The family library cache is stored on the C drive. If C drive space is insufficient, you can click "Clear Cache." Generally not recommended — the more cache, the smoother the experience.
