Tools

Less frequently used tools are consolidated into the toolbox to reduce interface clutter (but they're still useful!).

# Export Schedules

alt text

Export selected schedules. Multiple exports are automatically renamed with version numbers.

  • Steps
  1. Select the schedules to export. Hold Ctrl to add to selection, Shift to select all items between the first and last.

alt text

  1. Click Export, choose the save location in the popup, and click Save.

# Block

alt text

Combine grouped models into a single geometry block.

  • Parameter Explanation

The types in the window are the categories for the blocks after merging.

  • Steps

alt text

  1. Select the type → Click the Merge button on the ribbon → Marquee-select the target model.
  2. The generated model is overlaid at the original position by default. You can view the block result through phase separation or other viewing methods.

This function is commonly used to package elements created from multiple objects into a single unit for individual statistics.

It can also be used for encrypting project files or families, retaining only geometric information and materials.

# Family Conversion

Convert selected elements in the project into a custom family.

alt text

Steps: Marquee-select elements in the project to convert → Select family template → Fine-tune position and add material parameters in the family → Load into project → Paint materials → Save the family again.

# Structure Order

alt text

This tool optimizes drawings by adjusting the display order of beam, slab, and column components, as well as structural cut order.

# Interior Finishing Drawing Order

alt text

Steps: Click on the floor slab.

# Architectural Structure Order

alt text

Steps: One-click processing for the entire file. Recommended to operate in the original architectural phase. If one-click produces connection errors, use marquee mode instead.

# Marquee Structure

alt text

Steps: Marquee-select the beams, slabs, columns, and walls to cut.

# Flip Work Plane

alt text

Flip face-based families that have no physical placement on the set work plane (e.g., families placed at a specified level on an exposed ceiling).

alt text

When placing face-based families, if using a geometric face as reference, the family direction is correct. But if placed solely by referencing a work plane, the family defaults to facing upward as shown, which may affect subsequent design and cause model deviation from expectations.

For example, when creating light fixtures at a specified level: if the fixture family defaults to facing upward due to work plane reference, you need to flip it. Batch-select the fixtures to flip and click the corresponding button to complete the direction adjustment.

# Adjust Grid Endpoints

alt text

Intelligently position grid endpoint coordinates based on the current view's crop boundary, enabling automatic grid endpoint alignment.

alt text

  • Parameter Explanation
  1. Offset Distance: The distance between the grid head and the crop view boundary (actual distance on the printed drawing).
  2. 2D Mode: Uses view-independent mapping mechanism, keeping parameters independent per view plane, reflecting only the current view's parameter state.
  3. 3D Mode: Modifications to 3D view parameters automatically sync to associated view grid systems, ensuring unified model spatial reference.
  • Steps
  1. After creating the grid, activate the view crop boundary and crop region display, adjust the crop viewport range, and execute.

Endpoint offset adjustments can be made multiple times until the desired effect is achieved.

# Grid Renumbering

Intelligent grid numbering: horizontal grids automatically numbered with Arabic numerals (1-99), vertical grids with uppercase letters (A-Z).

Letters I and O are skipped.

Currently only effective for orthogonal (horizontal/vertical) grids.

# Marquee Numbering

Marquee-select parallel grids and sort them, using the one closest to the lower-left corner as the reference starting point.

alt text

Steps: Modify the first one → Marquee-select the grids to be sorted.
